Missoula is located 140 miles from Glacier National Park and 270 miles from Yellowstone National Park. There is something for everyone in Missoula: From outdoor recreational activities to the theater and symphony.
Recreation:
Three major rivers run through the area, the Bitterroot, Blackfoot, and Clark Fork
Also Rock Creek, which is known for its blue ribbon trout fishing is only 20 minutes away.
There are many lakes within an hours drive including Flathead Lake which is one of the largest lakes in Western United States.
7 Wilderness areas are with in 100 miles: great for hiking, biking, camping and rock climbing. The Bob Marshall, Mission Mountains, Anaconda-Pintlars, Rattlesnake, Scapegoat, Selway Bitterroot and Welcome Creek.
There are also plenty of opportunities without leaving the valley.

Skiing and Snowmobiling:
Snowbowl Ski Area is 20 minutes from Missoula with more with in 100 miles including Discovery Basin, Lookout Pass and Lost Trail.
Missoula is Montana’s most culturally diverse cities including sporting events, a Symphony, live theater, productions, galley events, public markets, festivals and fairs.
